Membership Information

Membership Information

Only real estate licensees who are members of the National Association of Realtors® may use the term Realtor® (real-tor). All members are required to abide by the National Association of Realtors® Code of Ethics, and state and federal Fair Housing Laws.

Committees

RANWW is a strong organization because of member involvement. We encourage you to participate by joining one or more of our committees or volunteering to serve in a leadership capacity.

Education

RANWW offers on-going education to assist members in keeping current with new regulations and legislation affecting real estate and to satisfy continuing education requirements. All Wisconsin real estate licensees are required to complete a specific number of hours of education on topics determined by the DRL each biennium. Educate yourself by becoming familiar with the bylaws, policies and procedures of the RANWW.

Meetings

General membership meetings are held at locations throughout the RANWW's jurisdiction. Due to the large geographical jurisdiction of the RANWW, meetings of more regional interest are also held in the Dunn-Pepin and Northern Waters areas. Meetings provide an opportunity for members to network in a relaxed atmosphere and hear a short presentation on a topic relating to real estate or the community.

MLS

The Realtors® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin operates the Northwestern Wisconsin Multiple Listing Service. The Service has approximately 300 offices, about 1000 subscribers and covers 22 counties. The system is fully computerized and has information on over 150,000 listings. Limited property data appears on realtor.com and websites of brokers who participate in the Internet Data Exchange program. The RANWW also operates an electronic lockbox system offering secure, cooperative access to For Sale properties.

Political Involvement

RANWW staff work with volunteer members to monitor legislative issues on the local level. Members also serve on committees to interview candidates and make recommendations to the general membership for support of candidates. RANWW has a Political Actions Committee (PAC) and offers financial support to candidates who support private property rights.
