“Emergency Food Boxes” Donated to Elderly by Local REALTORS®

Eau Claire - Local REALTORS® come together to display their generosity through donations to Aging and Disability Resource (ADRC) Centers in their communities during a “Week of Giving.” The REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin will be presenting checks to ADRC offices across the region, including one for more than $2,200 to the Chippewa County Aging and Disability Resource Center.

“We are proud of the generosity that our local REALTORS® show each year during a “Week of Giving”. Being able to ensure community members in need have a meal ready when they need one is incredibly rewarding,” said Brenda Barnhardt, REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin Executive Vice President.

This year, all of the donations are going toward “emergency food boxes”, which can be stored by the elderly for situations in which the harsh Wisconsin elements prevent Meals on Wheels from delivering meals.

The REALTORS® have raised over $8,500 so far for local charities, and they are still collecting donations. In addition to the Chippewa ADRC, RANWW is presenting 4 more checks to ADRC offices within their jurisdiction, including Trempeleau, Pepin, Washburn, and Bayfield counties.

RANWW has been arranging its “Week of Giving” program for the past four years; REALTORS® have generously given more than $47,000 to designated charities within their communities.

“Our REALTORS® love that funds stay local, and members can choose to donate to the charities in the communities in which they serve,” added Stacey McKinney, RANWW Board of Directors President.

The REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin is the professional trade association that all professional REALTORS® residing within the association jurisdiction belong to. The association provides educational opportunities for its members, is active in local, state and national advocacy efforts, engages in community outreach through charitable giving, operates its own private foundation to help homeowners in need and remains a positive force for the members they serve.
