  • EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - It's that time of year where the Salvation Army makes a return to the front of many stores.

Every year, bell ringers can be heard in front of most department stores. The Salvation Army's annual donation campaign is back and in Eau Claire, bell ringers can be found in over 17 locations and tiny kettles can be found in local businesses.

  • Money raised from these donation drives go straight to local programs like rental and utility assistance or laundry services.

For volunteer Shannyn Pinkert, this time of year is a chance to participate in Realtor Ring Day on the first weekend of December.

  • "It's important to volunteer because we rely on the community for the support of our business and realtors love giving back to the community and so its super important that we give back in any way we can," Pinkert said.

The goal this year is to raise $90,000, however last year they fell short of the goal receiving only $60,000.

Volunteers are always needed, to learn more click here.
