As REALTORS®, we help people realize their dream of owning their own home and raising their family in a safe and well-maintained neighborhood. We are dedicated to the betterment of our communities. As part of that dedication, we established a Foundation in 2004. Our non-profit Foundation, which is funded completely through the contributions of our members, provides grants to our neighbors in need. The Foundation works with social service agencies and clergy members to identify grant recipients; we do not accept applications directly from the public. Grants have been used for a variety of updates and installations including: Roof repairs, electrical upgrades, window replacements, garage door installation, plumbing updates, handicap access installation, well and septic updates, bathroom repairs, replacing hazardous steps, renovations to accommodate wheelchairs and replacing dangerous flooring.

"I can finally take a bath!"

To most of us, a bath is something we take for granted. For an 82- year old woman living alone in an older home on a very limited income, a bath was only a long forgotten pleasure. Because of a combination of lack of wall insulation, a window opening onto a cold porch and inadequate heat, pipes froze and caused water damage. With a grant from the Foundation, contractors were able to remodel the bathroom. They re-studded walls, added insulation and sheet rocked and painted the bathroom.

When the project was completed, the Foundation received a thank you with the closing remark "I can finally take a bath!"

"Another wonderful job completed with your generous support."

In December, 2006, the Foundation awarded a grant for installation of windows and a storm door for a Rusk County family who had an assortment of physical handicaps and limited income. The grant made the home more energy efficient as well as more comfortable. In the final paperwork, the County employee commented, "This was a wonderful early Christmas present that will continue to improve the quality of life within the home. Another wonderful job completed with your generous support. Thank you."
