Real Estate Licensing

The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services issues real estate licenses for salespeople and brokers.

Licenses are issued by the Department after an applicant has completed the required education, passed the licensing exam and submitted an application with payment to the Department.



Continuing education

2025-2026 Wisconsin Real estate ce requirements

Every two years, real estate licensees must complete 18 hours of CE to maintain their real estate license in the state of Wisconsin, as required by the Department of Safety and Professional Services. Coursework must be completed by December 14, 2026.

For the 2025-26 biennium, the 18 hours of required credits include the completion of 18 one-hour course topics, comprised of 12 mandatory courses and six elective courses.
