EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) -- A welcome relief is coming to dozens of families hit hard by last month's deadly tornado. The RANWW foundation is coming in with some big help for those affected by the tornadoes in Barron and Rusk counties. The Realtors Association of Northwestern Wisconsin Foundation received a national grant of $50,000 dollars to immediately assist victims with housing costs.

Brenda Barnhardt, the Executive Vice President of RANWW joined Hello Wisconsin for an exclusive interview to share how it's going to help.

Brenda says, “Imagine if your home was damaged to the point of you not being able to stay there, yet you have to continue to pay for it while you also pay for a temporary place to stay. We have $1,000 dollar grants to give the right to the people who need it so they can pay their mortgage or rent while they fix their homes or find a new place to live.

RANWW Foundation already donated $7,000 for emergency housing needs last month.

The National Realtors Relief Foundation worked with the board on this grant, and the board saw the need and approved the emergency grant of $50,000.

Barnhardt says, “We are so happy to say that other Realtor® Associations in the state are seeing the devastation and want to assist and support the relief efforts. The Lacrosse Area Realtors® Association donated an additional $1,000 and the Wisconsin Realtors® foundation stepped in with another $7,000 in total we are able to contribute $58,000, our intent is try and assist as many victims as possible with housing relief funds.”
