Weak April Housing Inventories Continue to Drive Seller's Market

Posted: 05.24.19

Eau Claire, WI - A strong economy and a limited number of houses on the market has sellers doing well with strong home prices, statewide. In April, home sales statewide are 9.7% below what they were in April of last year due to the decreased inventory. Regionally, the decreased inventory continues to benefit the sellers with increased home sale prices.

“Sellers continue to see their houses selling quickly and for increased prices, which makes it a great time for potential sellers to put their home on the market,” said REALTORS® Association of Northwest Wisconsin Executive Vice President Brenda Barnhardt.

Chippewa County has seen an increase in home prices 26.6% from last year, and Eau Clarie County has seen an increase in home prices of 16.9%.

“As quickly as houses continue to sell, it is important whether you are considering buying or selling to team up with an experienced REALTOR® to find your next home that is perfect for your family,” added Stacey McKinney, RANWW board president.

The REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin is the professional trade association that all professional REALTORS® residing within the association jurisdiction belong to. The association provides educational opportunities for its members, is active in local, state and national advocacy efforts, engages in community outreach through charitable giving, operates its own private foundation to help homeowners in need and remains a positive force for the members they serve.
