Homes Sold for Even More Money in August

Posted: 09.27.19

Home prices continued to rise statewide in August, consistent with the seller's market we’ve been experiencing across Wisconsin in 2019, according to the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association.
“Inventory continues to be tight, increasing demand and increasing prices, which is good for sellers” said REALTORS® Association of Northwest Wisconsin Executive Vice President Brenda Barnhardt.
Across the West Region, sales were up in August compared to 2018, including up 18.1% in Chippewa County and 10.1% in Eau Claire County. Statewide, sales were down 3.2%.
Prices were also up across the region, with Chippewa County up as much as 25.4%. Inventory continues to be the challenge, with inventory down 2.1% in the West Region, increasing prices. With tight inventories, people interested in buying a home are encouraged to get pre-approved, as sales happen quickly.
“Buyers working with an experienced REALTOR® are able to move quickly and get into a new home before winter,” added Stacey McKinney, RANWW board president.

The REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin is the professional trade association that all professional REALTORS® residing within the association jurisdiction belong to. The association provides educational opportunities for its members, is active in local, state and national advocacy efforts, engages in community outreach through charitable giving, operates its own private foundation to help homeowners in need and remains a positive force for the members they serve.
