Increased Home Sales in July

Wisconsin hit a new home sales record in July, which included sales increases in our local area.
“It is very exciting to see a sales record July, especially with the economic turbulence we've seen over the past few months,” said RANWW Executive Vice President Brenda Barnhardt.
According to the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association, 9,649 homes were sold in July, which is the most homes sold in July since the WRA re-benchmarked its data-collection methods in 2005.
Locally, sales were up in almost every county compared to July of last year. Rusk County saw a 95.2% increase, and Sawyer County was up 45.8%. Eau Claire County sales were up 20.4% compared to last year, with Chippewa County up 23.3% and Dunn County up 21.4%.
“With record-low mortgage rates, it is not surprising to see this increase in sales. I'm proud of our local REALTORS® for working hard during these uncertain times to help our friends and neighbors,” said Gary Brenizer, RANWW board president.
The REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin is the professional trade association that all professional REALTORS® residing within the association jurisdiction belong to. The association provides educational opportunities for its members, is active in local, state and national advocacy efforts, engages in community outreach through charitable giving, operates its own private foundation to help homeowners in need and remains a positive force for the members they serve.
