Home Sales and Prices Heat Up For Summer

Posted: 06.20.19

Eau Claire, WI - After a statewide decline in sales the past two consecutive months, home sales statewide increased by 3.2% in May 2019 compared to May 2018. Regionally, the northern counties are seeing as much as 33% increase in sales and the western counties are seeing an increase as much as 21%. Though the increase in sales in May is substantial, the lack of inventory continues to strongly benefit the seller's market.

“The prices of homes continue to rise with the increase in demand and limited homes for sale making it an ideal time to put your house on the market,” said REALTORS® Association of Northwest Wisconsin Executive Vice President Brenda Barnhardt.

Chippewa County has seen an increase in home prices 37% from last year, and Eau Clarie County has seen an increase in home prices of 7.9%, coming in just under the average of 9.1% increase in pricing statewide.

“If you're considering buying or selling your house in this hot market, it is important to team up with an experienced REALTOR® to find your next home that is perfect for your family,” added Stacey McKinney, RANWW board president.
