More Homes on the Market in July Leads to More Balanced Market

Posted: 08.19.19

Over the last several months, the housing market has been a strong seller's market. July may signal a shift in the housing market as new listings in 2019 were up 1.7% compared to July of 2018, statewide.

“Mortgage rates are at an all-time low, homes are selling quickly, and now we are seeing more homes on the market this month, which makes it a better market for both buyers and sellers,” said REALTORS® Association of Northwest Wisconsin Executive Vice President Brenda Barnhardt.

Looking at July home sales, regionally, Buffalo County has seen an increase in sales as much as 46.2% in July of 2019 compared to July of 2018. Chippewa County has seen an increase in sales as much as 19.3% and also is just above the state average inventory increase sitting at 1.8% in July of 2019 compared to July of 2018.

“Now is the time to meet with a licensed REALTOR®to take advantage of the low mortgage rates and navigate the market to find the perfect home for your family,” added Stacey McKinney, RANWW board president.
